Level and Exam Board OCR A level Why choose Computer Science? Computer Science teaches you the science behind how a computer works. It introduces you to logical thinking and programming and involves solving problems. It is useful for almost any career path including Game Design and Web Design. What does the course involve? The A level course consists of 2 exams each worth 40% and one piece of practical assessment. The first exam looks at the fundamentals of computer science including Binary, Networking, Hardware and Moral and Ethical issues. The 2nd module is based around problem solving, programming, and computational thinking. 5 GCSE's including grade 5 or above in Maths and grade 4 in English or grade B or above in Computer Science.
