The qualification has one structure and is delivered over two years. Entry requirements: Minimum Grade B in GCSE Computer Science; Grade 5 or above in GCSE Maths and English Language. The ICT course develops students' communication and decision-making skills, building an e-portfolio as a showcase for their achievements. This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to gain a good underpinning of ICT skills to support other courses such as Maths, Physics, Business and PE, but it is especially good for students who wish to pursue a career in ICT either having completed A Levels or undertaking an HND, foundation degree or honours degree in computing or ICT. The A Level is relevant to careers in web design and development, software development, and countless degree opportunities. Topics covered include: The Information Age, The Digital Economy, The Knowledge Worker, Using Database Software, Managing ICT Projects and Using Multimedia Software (portfolio).
