This course is for people interested in computers and the idea of computational thinking and its use by both humans and machines. Thinking computationally involves questions that have the potential to change how we view the world and is an important skill within the computer science industry. The course aims to give you the capacity to think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically. You will gain an understanding of the organisation of computer systems, including software, hardware, data, communications and people. You will also learn to apply skills, knowledge and understanding of computing, including programming, in a range of contexts to solve problems. What you need to get on

A minimum of five GCSE’s at level 6 or equivalent from five separate subjects including a 6 in English with an average points score of 5.5 or more.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
