What the college says

The Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing is a 3 year work based learning course, offered as an apprenticeship. We are currently still on the veterinary nursing framework, with standards due to be introduced in 2018. We are now classed as an employer provider so can only deliver the apprenticeship to Medivet employees. We offer the core subjects and small animal pathway only. You will need to find employment within a Medivet Training practice first, where you will work for 6-9 months as a Patient care Assistant before enrolling at college. It takes approx. 3 years to qualify and your time will be split between learning theory at college and gaining practical experience in our practices. What you need to get on

5 GCSE's at C or above which must include maths, English language or literature & science (or equivalent qualifications). Level 2 functional skills English and maths will be accepted. We also accept the VCA alongside the relevant maths and english. If you have a degree, you also need to show evidence of maths either within the degree or via a GCSE or functional skill. Adult numeracy and literacy are not accepted as being GCSE equivalent.
