You'll spend a year with us developing the skills and knowledge required in today's fast paced, creative hairdressing industry. You'll study and develop advanced skills in: Client services Cutting techniques Creative colouring techniques Creating photographic/ fashion images Creative long hair work & bridal styling etc. Creative Hair Extensions Working as part of our professional team in our Baltic Salon & Spa, you will have the opportunity to perfect your customer care skills and understand what it means to work as part of an effective team, dealing with paying clients. You will also have the opportunity to build up your own portfolio of work and enter regional and national competitions at which our past students have enjoyed phenomenal success. You ability will be assessed to prepare you for the practical skills test as set by industry experts developing your skills through observations on clients and fellow students. On completion of the course, you could progress directly into the hairdressing industry in a salon, hotel or spa. Fully trained hairdressers can earn up to £20,000 a year and at the top of the profession, hairdressers can earn more than £30,000. This industry also lends itself perfectly to becoming your own boss. If you choose to stay in education, you can progress onto a Level 4 qualification or Foundation Degree in Salon Management qualification. You could also consider initial teacher training.
What you need to get on
Qualifications needed: You must have already achieved a Level 2 qualification in hairdressing and have previous experience in the hairdressing industry. Required Experience: Experience of working at Level 2 in Hairdressing.
