Use of pesticides is governed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1999 (COSHH) the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and the Food and Environmental Protection Act 1985 (FEPA). The regulations require employers to ensure that only employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use apply pesticides.
