This course is for those with a genuine interest in children and a desire to be involved with their care, development and education. It is essential that Childcare and Education Workers have a genuine interest in children. It is an advantage to be patient, reliable, flexible, cheerful, and enthusiastic and in addition have a sense of humour! Candidates should be able to use their own initiative with a commitment to equal opportunities.

What you need to get on

Interview and 5 GCSEs grade 4 (C) or above in written subjects which must include English. Unless Maths grade 4 (C) has already been achieved before the Course, then those who havent achieved this grade will study GCSE Maths alongside the Childcare Course. Learners will need 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above. Alternatively, the Full Diploma in Childcare and Education Level 2 at an overall grade 4 (C) or above would be required.
