What the college says

This course prepares you for the Chief Mate Certificate of Competency (CoC) written examinations. These exams are in the subjects of Ship Stability and Navigation and both are administered by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) on behalf of the MCA. The course is part of a suite of qualifications that make up the Chief Mate CoC and are designed to develop the higher management skills necessary to perform on board a vessel in a senior role. The course fee shown does not include the MCA/SQA exam fee.

You will need to hold a HND, Advanced Diploma or Foundation Degree in Nautical Science.
