What the college says
To build on the knowledge and understanding gained at GCSE into all aspects of Chemistry. To introduce the different branches of Chemistry and show how the subject can be broken down into different but specific areas of study. To improve the practical skills by a wider range of different investigations and use of more complex apparatus. This is a two year course and will be examined at the end of year 13.
What you need to get on
Grade 7 in Chemistry or grades 7-7 in Combined Science (grade 7 in the Chemistry unit) and grade 7 in Mathematics.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
