The opportunities for students of Chemistry on completion of full time education are vast. There are many possible careers within the scientific world and qualifications in Science subjects are acceptable as an entry in many other careers. Past students have left the course to follow these career paths: Medicine, Dentistry, Forensic Science, Pharmacy, Medical Science, Chemical Engineering, Research Chemistry, Nursing, Oil and Petroleum Science, Apprenticeships with Jaguar Land Rover, Environmental Chemistry and Waste Management. The Science courses offered at Walsall Academy are designed to provide academic and vocational experiences. They will prepare students for their choice of career in both the world of work and Higher Education. Module 1 – Development of Practical skills Module 2 – Foundations in Chemistry Module 3 – Periodic Table and Energy Module 4 – Core Organic Chemistry Module 5 – Physical Chemistry and Transition Elements Module 6 – Organic Chemistry and Analysis The practical qualification is either a pass or fail based upon 12 in class assessments and will be provided separate to the overall exam grade.
