A Level Chemistry gives students the opportunity to study key concepts in greater depth. Many of the ideas first covered at GCSE will be revisited but with a greater emphasis on explaining rather than simply describing the behaviour of molecules.
What you need to get on
General entry requirements to study Level 3 qualifications at Hillview Sixth Form are Grade 4 or above in both English Language and Maths plus 3 other GCSE subjects. Subject specific entrance requirements are GCSE Chemistry grade 6 or above or GCSE Combined Science minimum grades 7/6 or above in addition to a Grade 4 or above in English and a Grade 6 or above in Maths. An APS of 5.5 or above.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
