The A-Level Chemistry course is a modular course designed to give students a further understanding of a range of areas in Chemistry. The content of the full A-Level course is examined at the end of Year 13 where students will be given their A-Level grade based on the examinations they complete. Teaching of practical skills is integrated with the theoretical topics and they’re assessed both through written papers and the Practical Endorsement.

What you need to get on

Students are required to achieve a grade 7 in either of their combined science examinations, regardless of which route they have followed. Students studying separate sciences are required to achieve a grade 7 in GCSE Chemistry. We also require students to have gained a grade 6 in Mathematics and a grade 4 in English Language or Literature.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
