If you want a career in early years education or want to progress to a degree in Primary Teaching, but just missed out on gaining grade 4 in English or Maths in school, this T-Level transition course will give you the opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of working with children in nurseries or schools alongside re-sitting your English and/or Maths GCSE. You will be provided with an industry placement benefiting from experience in one or more local nursery or primary school settings, learn about child development, the early years curriculum as well as the importance of play and early childhood attachment. The course is delivered by our expert T-Level lecturers, who have all worked in early years and school settings. The T Level transition course will give you a broad understanding of working with children in early years or school settings. You will learn about: - Child development - Play and attachment - Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum - Working with children with Special Educational Needs - Planning for and assessing children - Teaching techniques You will also practise some of the technical skills needed to work with children and develop the confidence to work with a range of age groups in different environments.

- 4 GCSEs grade 3 or above, including English. - A successful interview with a tutor - The ability to study independently - A genuine interest in the subject - Good communication skills
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
