What the college says
This qualification is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who have recently entered into the construction industry. This qualification is also suitable for tradespeople who desire to develop or improve their knowledge of retrofit in the construction industry. It is also for those without retrofit experience (electricians, joiners, plumbers, plasterers, bricklayers, etc) who may wish to work in the related field of retrofit professional roles such as a retrofit assessor. This qualification is part of the NEIoT: Retrofit Installer bootcamp. This programme is IoT (Institute of Technology) recognised, guaranteeing you outstanding technical training.
What you need to get on
Previous experience in customer services or a background in construction would be highly advantageous. We will conduct initial assessments on an individual basis to ensure that you derive maximum benefit from your course. We have tailored an introductory course specifically to prepare you for this exciting new path in the construction sector, should you require this.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
