What the college says
The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding. It is aimed at those working or preparing to work in adult social care and aims to introduce knowledge only around areas relating to adult social care.
What you need to get on
There are no specific entry requirements however you need to be working or volunteering in the care sector and be based in WMCA region for a funded opportunity. It is also preferred that learners hold at least a L1 qualification in English and Maths.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
