This course will help you gain an understanding of the key areas associated with providing effective Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), including signposting, referrals, record keeping, confidentiality and communication techniques. This knowledge gained during this course is transferable and can be used within a wide range of sectors. Suitable for: This course is ideal for anyone who works, or volunteers, in a role which involves providing initial information, advice and guidance for services such as healthcare, education and legal and community. Course units: Unit 1: Understand information, advice and guidance in practice Unit 2: Understand the interaction skills for information, advice and guidance Unit 3: Understanding signposting and referral in information, advice and guidance Unit 4: Understand the context of information, advice and guidance Unit 5: Understand skills required by advice providers You will ideally need to have access to Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher and PowerPoint as you may need to download and edit documents for your online course. Preferably, you should be employed or volunteering in a role where you are providing information, advice and guidance to customers as this course will ask you to reflect on practices within your own organisation.
