IB Philosophy is the inquiry into profound, fascinating, and challenging questions such as ‘What does it mean to be human?’ ‘Do we have free will?’ ‘What does it mean to say something is good?’ These big questions have animated the discussions of great thinkers for centuries. IB Philosophy seeks to stimulate students’ intellectual curiosity, critically examine their own beliefs, and the perspectives of others. Philosophy fosters independence of thought as student’s explore the ideas of the most influential thinkers of human history. Student’s will then consider the impact of these ideas for our contemporary world and its challenging issues. Students will be skilled in forming reasoned arguments, analysis of complex problems, thinking creatively to solve problems, and to discern the pertinent questions to ask in given contexts.

What you need to get on

Minimum of GCSE grades 4 (G4) in English and Mathematics plus 3 other GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C). Plus G5 in English and G5 in Humanities

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
