It is suitable for learners with little or no previous experience, as well as those who wish to build on their current knowledge and techniques. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional learning environment, with opportunities to practise a range of barbering skills including cutting, styling and grooming. The course also introduces you to customer service, health and safety, and the professional standards expected in a barbershop setting. On completion, you will be well prepared to progress to the Level 3 or into employment as a barbering assistant.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. An interest in barbering and a willingness to learn practical skills are essential. Good communication skills, a positive attitude towards working with clients, and a commitment to personal presentation will support your success. Basic literacy and numeracy skills are helpful to complete the written elements of the course, but additional support can be provided if needed.
