The aim of this course is to introduce you to the beauty industry and help you develop the basic practical skills and knowledge needed to progress further. You will learn how to work safely and professionally in a salon environment while building confidence in your abilities. The course also focuses on developing your communication skills, teamwork and personal organisation, helping you prepare for further study or training. It encourages a positive approach to learning, including good attendance, timekeeping and personal presentation.

What you need to get on

You must have a genuine interest in beauty and be willing to learn in a practical, hands-on environment. You will need to demonstrate good communication skills and an ability to follow instructions. Basic hand–eye coordination is important for carrying out practical tasks. Before enrolling, you will be invited to attend an informal discussion with a tutor to make sure the course is suitable for you.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
