What the college says

This qualification is designed to stimulate interest and encourage the learners� understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children. The qualification will cover a diverse range of units, giving core understanding of working with and caring for children aged from birth to 5 years and 11 months. The units cover both personal development and the development and growth of babies and young children. It will also explore the value of a healthy lifestyle and diet, communication and learning, aspects of play and importance of building children's' confidence. You will also be expected to complete work experience in a relevant early years placement.

What you need to get on

Achieve 3 GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English Language and maths. Attend a taster day Complete associated diagnostic tasks Provide two positive references Successful completion of a Disclosure Baring Service (DBS) check.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
