This qualification is for learner pupils who want to study sport, leisure or fitness. This qualification is not just about being able to play sport; it will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress into Higher Education on a sport-related programme such as Sport and Physical Education, Sport Science, Sport Coaching and Development or Sport and Leisure Management. The content of OCR's extended certificate is divided into three mandatory components and two optional units.

What you need to get on

Level 6 in GCSE Physical Education and level 5 in Double or Triple Award Science. Regular participation or coaching in a sports club outside of school.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
