The UK is regarded as a world leader in engineering fields such as renewable energy, space, aerospace, creative industries, automotive and civil. This course allows learners to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required for progression into a range of roles within the industry using relevant software throughout the course. Students will gain a thorough grounding in engineering theory and principles, putting these into practice through classroom experiments, industry visits and university partnerships. The Project (Unit 3) integrates the knowledge and skills gained and translates this into a major piece of work which could be a product, device or service.

What you need to get on

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above ideally including English Language at grade 4 or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Merit with English Language at grade 4. In addition/ within those 5 GCSEs, for this subject you will need to achieve: Grade 5 in Maths, Grade 4 in Core Science and Grade 4 in Additional Science OR Grade 5 in Maths, Grade 4 in two separate science GCSEs OR BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Engineering with Merit and Grade 5 in Maths
