This qualification is not just about being able to play sport; it will provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress into Higher Education on a sport-related programme such as Sport and Physical Education, Sport Science, Sport Coaching and Development or Sport and Leisure Management. During the course you will be assessed in 8 units, core units include Sports Coaching, Sports Development and Management and Body systems and the effects of physical activity. You will also complete practical skills in sport.

What you need to get on

To study in the Sixth Form, students much achieve the general entry requirements which are a minimum of 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above from a range of subjects including Mathematics and English Language. In addition a practical ability in a suitable sport is required.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
