This programme is mainly about learning Level 2 Hairdressing/Barbering skills during real work activities in a salon environment. Assessment must be demonstrated on real, paying clients, in a realistic working environment, under commercial pressures and within commercially acceptable service times.
What you need to get on
Students will need to have the necessary level in Literacy and Numeracy (Entry Level 3) and a required level of skills. Students are required to have either completed a Level 1 qualification in hairdressing or have relevant industrial experience.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
