What the college says
This course is ideal for those of you wishing to further your hairdressing career. Following on from a Level 1 qualification you will work to our paying customers demonstrating your ability and creativity within our commercial salon environment. There are opportunities to work with industry specialists, guest stylists and participate in competition work. There is a strong emphasis on team work ethos which is an essential part of the hairdressing culture. As part of your programme you will also be required to attend a one day a week work placement to develop additional skills to further challenge you.
What you need to get on
Qualifications needed NVQ/VRQ Level 1 or relevant work experience. Required experience You will need to be able to present a portfolio of work.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
