What the college says
A BTEC in Business gives students the skills they need to either move on to higher education or go straight into employment. Level 3 BTEC Business covers all aspects of business including marketing, law, human resources and accounting. In addition, they also cover real life activities such as writing and presenting business plans. The BTEC in Business qualifies for UCAS points. It gives students a wide choice of progression options into further study, training or relevant employment in the business sector. Students who successfully complete the qualification will be well equipped to move onto degrees, BTEC Higher National Diplomas or Modern Apprenticeships. The new BTEC Nationals in Business use a combination of assessment styles to give students confidence that they can apply their knowledge to succeed in the workplace and have the study skills to continue learning throughout their career. This range of vocational assessments both practical and written mean students can showcase their learning and skills to best effect when they take their next step, whether thats supporting applications to higher education courses or to potential employers. The BTEC Extended Certificate qualification is equivalent to a single A Level and requires the student to complete four units of work including a controlled assignment and 1 exam over a 2 year period.
