The BTEC Sport course at Arthur Terry School allows students the opportunity to study some of the key theoretical concepts of Sport at post-16 level. Here at Arthur Terry School we offer the BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport, an applied general qualification for post-16 learners who want to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment in the sport sector. The qualification is equivalent in size to one A level and is delivered over a two – year period alongside other A level and BTEC qualifications. Students will receive a Distinction, Merit or Pass which carries an equivalence in UCAS points to traditional A level subjects. The overall grade is based on the weighted scores a student achieves in each unit and it possible to achieve a Distinction*.

What you need to get on

Minimum entry requirement to the Arthur Terry 6th form: Gaining a minimum 33 points from a minimum of 7 GCSEs which must include English Language and Maths with a minimum point score of 4. Individual subject entry requirements must follow the Pathway entry requirements table also available on the Arthur Terry School website. Up to 2 BTEC/OCR National qualifications at Level 2 Merit can be used for 6th form entry. Each BTEC will count as 1 of the 7 GCSE grades Minimum subject entry requirement: 5 in GCSE PE (including a grade 6 in the theory paper) and 5 in Science (Core and Additional)
