What the college says

Students will study three mandatory units which give an overview of Human Biology - Principles of Applied Human Biology (assessed externally); Practical Microbiology and Infectious Disease; Human Biology and Health Issues (assessed externally). They will also study one optional unit from a choice of Functional Physiology (we normally select this unit); Diseases, Disorders, Treatments and Therapies, Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Biomedical Science or Human Reproduction and Fertility. There is a degree of overlap in content with A Level Biology (although this qualification is assessed differently). As such it is not suitable to study both qualifications in the Sixth Form.
