What the college says
What is Engineering? Engineering is the practical application of science and maths to solve problems, and it is everywhere in the world around you. From the start to the end of each day, engineering technologies improve the ways that we communicate, work, travel, stay healthy, and entertain ourselves. Why study it? BTEC (Business & Technical Education Council) Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering is equivalent to 3 A Levels. BTECs are a highly successful alternative to general qualifications, suitable for a wide range of learners. As work-related qualifications, they are designed to accommodate the needs of employers as well as allowing progression to university.
