What the college says
One of the main aims of this course is to develop core scientific knowledge across biology, chemistry and physics, alongside applied areas such as environmental science and medical science. The programme also focuses on building practical and analytical skills through hands-on laboratory work, helping students develop techniques in experimentation, data analysis and problem-solving. Students are encouraged to apply scientific theories to real-world scenarios, helping them become workplace-ready and develop an understanding of how science is used within industry. The course also prepares students for progression into higher education or employment, providing a strong foundation for university-level study in subjects such as biomedical science, environmental science or healthcare. Through assignments and investigative projects, students develop research skills, critical thinking and the ability to work independently. This qualification provides a vocational alternative to traditional academic pathways by combining theoretical knowledge with practical application in a supportive learning environment.
