3 mandatory units in Ensemble Music Performance, Practical Music Theory and Harmony & Professional Practice in the Music Industry. You will then choose a 4th option from a range of units to suit your musical tastes and abilities. These include solo performance, composition, improvising music & music performance session skills. You will learn in a range of styles including practical lessons rehearsing, composing, forming bands and groups, trips to studios, events & concerts. 2 units are externally assessed (Ensemble Music Performance & Professional Practice in the Music Industry). Practical Music Theory and Harmony & the optional unit are internally assessed at RR6 and graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. A variety of methods are used including presentations, recordings, written projects, set tasks & performances.

What you need to get on

GCSE Music 4 or higher, Merit or above at BTEC Level 2, or Grade 5 standard in your instrument. You should also have practical experience of live performance or composing. Applicants will be invited to attend a solo audition - specific details for this will be sent on receipt of application.
