Law is an exciting and dynamic subject. Laws are rules, usually made by government, that are used to order the way in which a society behaves. Law plays an essential role in every area of our lives as well as those of organisations and institutions. You will study key aspects of the English legal system plus areas of Criminal and Civil law, including: How laws are made and how the legal system works Police powers, law enforcement and different types of offences Solving disputes in civil law Rights and responsibilities You will learn how to understand and apply the law to real-life situations, and develop the necessary skills of analysis, researching, understanding complex text and attention to detail.

What you need to get on

To qualify to study 3 A level/ Applied subjects, you will need to achieve 6 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, preferably including English Language or Maths at grade 4 or above. In addition/ within those 6 GCSEs, for this subject you will need to achieve Grade 4 or above in English Language and English Literature.
