What the college says

The Performing Arts are art forms in which artists use their body or voice to convey artistic expression and include dance, music, opera, theatre, magic, spoken word, circus arts, recitation and musical theatre. BTEC Performing Arts will provide you with a broad foundation in all aspects of performance. You will participate in a variety of practical workshops, focusing on Acting, Singing and Dancing. You will develop key physical and performance skills in a range of disciplines, whilst analysing and exploring a variety of Musical Theatre works and practitioners. You will have the opportunity to participate in a range of workshop and performances, both in class and within Performing Arts extracurricular. You will work on building confidence to perform to a range of audiences, within different projects.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 in a Performing Arts subject or a Merit in BTEC Performing Arts plus an audition; or a reference relating to experience in Performing Arts outside the school will be required. GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
