What the college says

The New BTEC Nationals in Sport are a suite of Sports qualifications. All qualifications in the suite share some common units and assessments, allowing learners some flexibility in moving between sizes. BTEC Nationals have always required applied learningthis means you will be assessed as you go through the course. You will use your knowledge and understanding along with practical and technical skills. You will perform vocational tasks and apply transferable skills. Transferable skills are those such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis, which are valued in both higher education and the workplace. The National Foundation Diploma is designed to cover the underpinning knowledge for the sport sector and support progression to an apprenticeship in the sport sector or to a further year of study at Level 3. It supports progression to higher education if taken as part of a programme of study that includes other BTEC Nationals or A Levels. It is equivalent in size to 1.5 A Levels.
