BTEC Sport has been a very popular and successful course at Outwood Academy Newbold since its introduction in 2010.Students are given the opportunity to progress to the next level of BTEC study and will allow students who enjoy sport to develop their all-round knowledge of the subject, both practically and theoretically. The course is made up of 3 compulsory units:?Anatomy and Physiology?Fitness Training & Programme for Health, Sport and Well-Being?Professional Development in the sports industryAnd one optional unit such as:?Sports Leadership?Sports Psychology?Practical Sports Performance Students opting for this course will also be expected to study other A-Level subjects alongside the BTEC.

What you need to get on

5 x GCSE Grade A* - C including a Distinction level BTEC Level 2 Sport Studies or Grade B in GCSE P.E. and a minimum Grade 5 GCSE in English (Students achieving a merit grade at Level 2 will be considered on an individual basis)
