The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care consists of eight units studied over 2 years, 6 units are mandatory and a further 2 are optional units chosen from a limited list: Mandatory units - Unit 1 - Human lifespan development Unit 2 - Working in Health & Social care Unit 4 - Enquiries into current research in Health & Social Care Unit 5 - Meeting individual care and support needs Unit 7 - Principles of safe practise in Health and Social Care Unit 8 - Promoting public health Optional units - Unit 6 - Work experience in Health & Social care (100 hours to be completed over a minimum of 4 vocational placements over the 2 year course) Unit 19 - Nutritional health

What you need to get on

You need a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C or above including Mathematics, English and Science all at a grade 4. If you have alternative qualifications which are equivalent to GCSEs, your application will be considered on an individual basis. If you have completed a BTEC First Diploma in Health & Social Care, you need to have achieved a minimum of 'Merit' grade to continue onto the level 3 course.
