The Foundation diploma is the first year of a 2 year programme of study. It is tailored for those that wish to strengthen their academic abilities and gain a broader knowledge of Health and Social Care. It is an ideal starting point for those that wish to work in health and social care environments or those that wish to move on to study in higher education in the area of health and social care. You will study various topics. The units of study are as follows: - Human lifespan development - Working in health and social care - Meeting Individual care and support needs - Principles of safe practice in health and social care - Supporting individuals with additional needs - Work experience in health and social care. You will also be expected to complete some placement hours alongside your programme of study. This is an invaluable part of the course and you must be willing to experience various settings in order to pass and complete the foundation diploma.
What you need to get on
Minimum of 4 GCSE's at grade 4 or above one of which must English Language. You will need to have Maths GCSE at a minimum grade 3.
