A hands-on introduction for competent pianists based on the tutor's book 'Improvising Blues Piano'. Blues piano is a good introduction to basic jazz harmony and an excellent way to develop simple improvisation skills. This is the 2nd term of a three-term course. You are strongly encouraged to attend all three terms.
What you need to get on
Completion of Blues Piano 1A. Knowledge of major scales in most keys. Familiarity with major triads. Reasonable piano technique (at least grade 3 or higher). Good coordination between the hands. Time to practise between classes. Commitment to attend every week. Some reading ability.
