What the college says
To develop a broad knowledge and understanding of biological facts, concepts and principles, to appreciate their significance and have the skills to use them in new and evolving situations. To engender an enjoyment and interest in the study of living organisms. To prepare students for further biological studies in higher education or simply to act as a stimulating course on its own. This is a two year course and will be examined at the end of year 13.
What you need to get on
Grade 7 in Biology or grades 7-7 in Combined Science (grade 7 in the Biology unit) and grade 6 in Mathematics.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
