The aim of this course are to encourage candidates to:  develop their interest in and enthusiasm for biology, including developing an interest in further study and careers in biology  appreciate how society makes decisions about scientific issues and how the sciences contribute to the success of the economy and society  develop and demonstrate a deeper appreciation of the skills, knowledge and understanding of How Science Works; and develop essential knowledge and understanding of different areas of biology and how they relate to each other.

What you need to get on

You will need at least a grade 6-6 or above in Combined Science at GCSE or grade 6 in Separate Biology at GCSE. It is important to have the equivalent of 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above (including Mathematics and English Language at grade 5). You will need to demonstrate that you are eager to work independently to enrich your knowledge of the subject and to thoroughly analyse data.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
