Biology is the study of life, encompassing everything from molecules to ecosystems! Consequently the course offers a huge variety of disciplinary knowledge and skills, including drawing microscope images and studying biochemical pathways, right through to examining the problems of human population growth. A good grade in the subject will allow progression to higher education as well as a wealth of career opportunities. Biology is a challenging course; the best grades are achieved by students studying Biology with Chemistry, Maths or Physics.

What you need to get on

Students need 5 GSCE passes at grade 4 or above including English Language. Additionally, GCSE Core and Additional Science : grades 6:6 or above or minimum of 6:6 from triple award to include at least a 6 in Biology. GCSE Applied Science / Level 2 BTEC Applied Science is not acceptable entry qualifications for this course. GSCE Mathematics Grade 6; Grade 5 is accepted but students have to take Core Maths to support studies.
