What the college says

The study of life focuses on how life began, what living things are made up of, how they work and how they interact with the environment. The human species is of particular interest to us, in terms of studying human processes and the harmful and beneficial effects that we have on the Earth. Most people have some interest in Biology, whether it be related to “What is the meaning of life?”, health and fitness, diseases, concern for the environment, views on Genetic Engineering; most of these issues are covered in the A Level Biology course. Biology has links with many other subjects. In particular, there are overlaps with Chemistry, Physical Education and Geography. As a result, our students have gone on to degrees in Biomedical Sciences, Environmental Science, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, among others.
