During the 7 weeks you will learn about:� different leathers and skins - where they come from and how they are treated and finished� what jobs and end uses for different leathers there are� suggestions on suppliers and sellers of leathers components and tools� you will learn how to make 3 small leather goods. a passport folio, a losenge shaped key fob and a credit or travel card wallet� during the 7 weeks you will learn how to draft a pattern for each product� choose the right piece of leather for each product� cut the pattern out of the leather with different tools� burnish and finish the raw edges� punch the leather ready for stitching, using pricking forks and awls� apply rivets or studs to your items� basic stitching skills and techniques� finishing off, knotting and burning the finished threads� by the end of the 7 weeks you will have completed your 3 small leather goods products and gained some foundational leather crafting skills that will enable you to make more items yourself at home.
