This is the perfect course for those wanting to study the basic beauty therapy skills, including manicure, pedicure, make-up, waxing, eye treatments, anatomy and physiology and reception. You will have the opportunity to work on paying clients in the colleges Health Spa. The college organises various trips to Beauty exhibitions which is optional for you to attend (costs to be incurred). You will also have the chance to enter make-up competitions and showcase your skills against other colleges regionally and nationally.

What you need to get on

You must attend an interview with the course leader 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or 4 (E/D) or above or have competed Level 1 in Beauty Therapy, with a suitable reference Initial assessment results which demonstrate working towards level 1 Must be prepared to study Functional Skills in Maths and/or English Must be willing to give and receive all treatments 100 percent attendance is required

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
