This course is perfect if you are looking to pursue a career in advanced specialist beauty therapy. This includes job opportunities such as working in a high-end salons and hotels, on a cruise liner, or in a day spa. This course provides a great foundation for a career in salon management or progression on to university and level 4 qualifications in advanced services. Beauty therapists work in close contact with clients from different age groups and backgrounds. Good social and interpersonal skills, discretion and respect for others are important characteristics. You will also need to have physical stamina as you are often on your feet all day.

What you need to get on

You’ll need to have completed a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification in a related field and have achieved English and Maths at grade 9–4 (A*–C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths. All students must undertake and pass a practical dexterity test prior to enrolment to ensure you are suitable for this course. You must hold a relevant qualification in basic waxing.
