What the college says

This course is for individuals that have little or some English reading skills. You will learn how to read simple English to help you go about your daily life. You will learn how to read basic forms, use a dictionary, read a letter from your surgery and any letters from your child�s school. You will be able to read basic health & safety and transport information.

What you need to get on

You will need to complete an initial assessment before registration on the course. You must have achieved an Entry Level 2 ESOL Reading qualification (or equivalent), prior to the course or score at working to Entry level 3 in your initial assessment.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

A supported starting point if exams have not gone well yet.
