What the college says

This 18-week Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course is designed to provide you with an insight into life as a Motor Mechanic or Vehicle Technician and to help you to develop the knowledge and skills required to progress onto higher levels. This Level 1 Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course is mainly practical, with training taking place in our £10 million Advanced Technology Centre.

What you need to get on

You must be aged at least 19 on or before 30 August and you must be able to attend one full day a week There are no formal qualification, but you should have reasonably good levels of English and maths Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
