This qualification is for those new to assessing and will enable them to gain the knowledge and understanding of assessment principles and practices and assess occupational competence against recognised occupational qualifications within an individual’s work environment. To achieve the certificate you will attend 2 – 4 training sessions which will develop your knowledge and understanding of best practices in assessment after assessment you will have acquired the skills to become an assessor. You will need to produce a portfolio which will be submitted for internal and external verification. Your portfolio will l include the following; Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment; Assess Occupational Competence in the Working Environment; Assess vocational skills, knowledge and Understanding
What you need to get on
Must be employed or in a voluntary position and have access to 2 - 3 candidates working towards a relevant occupational qualification. Minimum of 2 years occupational experience and a high level of literacy

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
