Welcome to the Aspiring Professionals – Carpentry & Joinery programme at Wirral Met. This course is designed to equip you with the core skills and knowledge needed to begin a rewarding career in woodwork and site carpentry. As well as learning hands-on techniques in measuring, cutting, and assembling materials, you'll build your confidence, teamwork, and communication skills to help you thrive in the workplace. You'll focus on carpentry-specific training while preparing for progression onto a Level 2 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.

What you need to get on

There are no formal entry qualifications required to study at this level. Basic levels of literacy and numeracy are expected. If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
