In Year 12 students study: Fundamentals of Physics; Mechanics (Forces, Motion & Energy); Electrons, Photons and Waves (Electricity Behaviour and Basic Quantum Theory); Standard Practical Investigations. In Year 13 go on to study: The Newtonian World (Circular Motion, Gravity, Oscillations & Gases); Astrophysics & Cosmology; Field Theory of Electromagnetism; Nuclear and Particle Physics; Medical Imaging; Advanced Practical Investigations.
What you need to get on
5 x GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above. In addition Grade 5 in English Language, Grade 6 in Maths + either Grades 6, 6, 5 in triple science (with 6 in Physics) or Grades 6, 6 in Combined Science.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
